bitter and strange all by myself, a bubbly secret not to share

Wild field of wheat soppy with the rain that fell on me last night
the path across the hill is cleaved like by a knife, the stalks still soak through my jeans

Wonderful and bright some mornings are more beautiful than any love I've ever known
The sun comes round the bend, a reliable friend, and surprises me with light

Slip of the wrist, I cut myself while shaving, getting older don't bother me
Little more grey in my beard, more confidence in my weird, sure some wounds don't heal, but most of them do

Delicate and charming your love is like a heron standing on one leg
When it unfolds itself, it unwraps something else, when it takes to flight its wings will shake the sky
